Wasaga Beach Attractions

Wasaga Beach

We have the privilege of living in one of the most beautiful and unique regions in all of Ontario, …and only 90 minutes north of Toronto! Not only is Wasaga Beach the longest freshwater beach in the world, but we are perfectly situated along a 14 km. stretch of the pristine waters and white sandy beaches of Southern Georgian Bay! And, it’s not just the beaches…although the sunsets are simply magnificent. We are a four season community. The endless stretches of snowmobile and cross country trails, hiking and cycling trails and some of the best boating and fishing Southern Ontario can offer…it’s all right here, and more! And a special event that is held every year, is at Nancy Island Historic Site, where Wasaga reenacts the War of 1812. It is named Wasaga Under Siege! Collingwood and Blue Mountain

Blue Mountains

Blue Mountain, Ontario's largest mountain resort and the Village at Blue, is less than half an hour away. And the winter evening views across the bay, from Wasaga Beach, of the lights on the runs at Blue Mountain, are a sight you don’t want to miss. The Scenic Caves and Nordic Centre is a magnificent attraction, and just a few minutes from the mountain is the beautiful historic town of Collingwood. That’s where the annual Elvis Festival is held every July!

30,000 Islands

A little further northeast along the bay from Wasaga Beach, are the incredible 30,000 Islands of Georgian Bay. Cruises depart from Midland or Penetanguishene harbours. Visit the historical Saint Marie among the Hurons, The Martyrs’ Shrine, or enjoy the marine history of Discovery Harbour in Penetanguishene. Discover nature’s beauty and tranquility of Wye Marsh in Elmvale. Theatre lovers can enjoy performances in our area at the Kings Wharf Theatre in Penetanguishene and Theatre Collingwood at The Gaiety Theatre in Collingwood. Sometimes you might even catch some theatre right here in Wasaga Beach at the RecPlex.

If golfing is your pleasure, there are great courses right here in The Beach and all around the area! Wasaga Sands Golf and Country Club, Baywood Golf and Country Club, Marlwood Golf and Country Club, Batteaux Creek Golf and Country Club and if you just want to brush up a little on your golf swings, there’s Big Shots Driving Range.
